Get to know the Combo Brow Technique
Combo brows are where both the microblading technique of using a handheld tool to mimic hairs and the powder/ombre brow technique where a cosmetic machine is used to add a shaded look, are combined. This combination is great for clients who have moderately normal to oily skin or sparse eyebrows. The microblading technique is applied the the border of the brows whilst the shading is added to the body of the brow. The shading gives the brows a fuller look, whilst the strokes keep the brows looking natural.
A new set of combo brows takes 2 appointments to complete, this is to ensure that all the strokes are evenly saturated with pigment. The second appointment is called a touch up and takes place 6 to 8 weeks after the original appointment as this is when the pigment has settled into the skin. In this touch up the artist makes any needed adjustments and ensures each hair-stroke has even colour. After the first touch up you will not need another until 6 to 12 months later.
The ratio of hair strokes to powder can be adapted to each individual client depending on their skin type. The procedures takes around 2 hours the first time and will last 1 to 3 years without any touch ups. Touch ups are done to maintain the crispness and freshness of the color as the pigment is mixed to ensure it matches with your natural brow colour.
In the few hours after your treatment, your brow area may feel a little sore, as if you have mild sunburn. This will quickly disappear.
